Subject: Marvellous artistic and engraving work
The religious pictures in this volume are of the highest order, with a great attention to fine detail.
This is the 1583 edition. There is another ... one from 1571 on archive.org (same title) that has a completely different set of pictures (same scenes, but different drawings/interpretations).
Both of them are a real treasure. I've downloaded the processed JP2 files and have been editing them to use in other books. The quality is very good (about 1500x2250 pixels) so, suitable for reproduction.
The paper is a bit thin on this one, resulting in some bleed through of text, but it can be removed with proper post-processing (adjusting contrast, gamma, sharpness, then reducing the colors to 16, usually manages to isolate the text as a separate color that can then be made white).
